The Haven For Soul Care

ALL FOR LOVE............

Sometimes we as single mothers feel as though we need to over compensate our children with excessive gifts, high priced toys, and clothing that really out of our budget. I know because I am one of those parents but what I have come to realize is that all our children need is love. Pure love the kind of love that will teach them to be responsible, caring, hard working, respectful, loving adults. Not spoiled, stiff neck, rebellious, disrespectful, do what ever it takes to keep up with the Jones selfish individuals.  I want my children to be givers and not takers, lenders and not borrowers.

I thought about this today when I saw a young man dressed to the tee and his mother looking like a million bucks but they both had attitudes as though the world owed them everything. Yes it feels good to raise our children on our own and not have to depend on nobody but God and still get the job done. But let's do it with humility and thankfulness first to God and then let's spread how we are doing it with others who and believe me that same mind frame will rub off on our children. To many kids are going up with wrong mind sets and instead of being the giver(setting examples, becoming leaders, giving good advice, trend setters)  they are becoming the takers,(selling drugs, stealing, taking from others). It's time for us as single mothers to get our minds in the right place and think about the future of our kids and not just in how they are looking in their clothes.

  1. You are so right! It is difficult to raise children even with both parents. The worldly temptations are so "loud"...but if we model and teach godly principles our children will grow into warm, caring, giving adults!
    Have a beautiful day~

  2. Thank you Mrs. Ellis. You are so right and the only way we can do this is to be healed from any past hurt so that we don't reflect this upon our children.
